Dr. Heather Jackson-Peña, MOT, OTR/L

Dr. Heather Jackson-Peña is the owner and director of Young & Well. She provides evaluation, intervention, consultation and education at the outpatient office in Rockville, Maryland. She also provides the same services in partnership with special education advocates and attorneys, and private and public charter schools in Washington, D.C. 


In addition to her private practice, she is an adjunct faculty member at Philadelphia University.  

 

Heather received her Doctor of Occupational Therapy (OTD) degree from Thomas Jefferson University in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania; and a Master of Occupational Therapy (MOT), Bachelor of Science in Health Science and Bachelor of Arts degrees from Saint Francis University in Loretto, Pennsylvania. She is Nationally Board for Certified by the National Board for Occupational Therapy (OTR) and is licensed (L) to practice in both Maryland and the District of Columbia. She is a certified Employment Training Specialist and a certified Handwriting Without Tears Handwriting Specialist for pre-k to 5th grade. Heather has been accepted to present several courses at the national and state level on leadership, pediatrics, transition and school-based practice. 


Spending time with family and friends, taking her dog on trail walks, running, drinking good coffee, reading and being outside are a few ways she likes to occupy her time.
